Code of conduct

Codum is dedicated to inspiring and motivating anyone to improve their coding skills and to better reach their coding-related learning goals. As such, Codum strives to create a positive and inclusive environment, welcoming anyone who is there for this purpose, and NOT tolerating harassment of users in any form.

This Code of Conduct was created to clearly define our housekeeping rules and what we mean by a harassment-free experience, so that our users are clear about our intent and have access to procedures for addressing issues, should they arise.

Forms of Harassment and Discrimination

Forms of harassment include sexual language and imagery, sexist, racist, and exclusionary jokes, and acts that insult or belittle other users in any way. Other forms of harassment and discriminatory behavior include but are not limited to: offensive posts or comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, caste or creed; sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation; stalking; and unwelcome sexual attention.

Posting and content sharing with the community

1. Respect all users
   All users are expected to be always respectful to other users and conduct their behaviour in a civil manner. Personal attacks in form of messages, posts or comments that harass, discriminate, insult, or demean a specific user or group of users will be removed and regular or egregious violations will result in bans.
2. No soliciting
   Soliciting money, goods or services is not allowed.
3. Don't spread misinformation
   Spreading harmful misinformation that affects large populations is not allowed.
4. Don't share harmful websites
   Comments and posts mentioning websites deemed to be harmful, because of demeaning content, spam, etc., will be filtered.

BuddyMeUp values and norms

The BuddyMeUp values and norms reflect the commitment users make when signing up for a buddy. Users that participate as buddies in Codum's BuddyMeUp program commit to:

1. Be proactive and take initiative
   Your success is depending on your own initiative. There is no teacher. Be proactive and always push and challenge your own and your buddy’s progress.
2. Be supportive
   Support your buddy where possible. Listen actively and provide feedback.
3. Be transparent
   Act and communicate openly and with integrity with the aim to build a meaningful relationship that fosters mutual learning. If you need to cancel a buddy-meeting or need a break, let you buddy know in time.
4. Be respectful und understanding
   Respect your buddies’ personal life and schedule. Be understanding and flexible if unexpected circumstances compromise the buddy-teams initial plans.

Consequences for violation of the Code of conduct

Codum platform users are expected to comply with Codum's Code of Conduct at all times. Codum users whose behavior do not conform with the code of conduct may have their posts and comments removed and may be banned from the platform.

How to report violations of the code of conduct

If you experience or notice harassment, discrimination, or any of the unacceptable behaviors outlined herein, or have any other concerns, please report the incident as soon as possible by sending us a message. The community works much better when everyone works together to keep the place running smooth.
